Fix Odor Problems in Bath Towels

The Maids • Aug 17, 2013

Ask yourself why your bath towels just are not going to smell fresh, even though they are most often nice and clean? Laundry soap usually gets rid of smells, though not constantly. Often, an odor can be challenging to get rid of, regardless of recurring washing. Of course, you don't have the time to repeat the wash cycle, especially with your busy schedule and little time for housekeeping.

Some odors just refuse to depart, irrespective of how hard you challenge them. Just how do you fight that? Suppose you didn't see the odor so you put them away? Can you imagine if a visitor reveals them? That might turn into a substantially awkward situation.

Over time, towels of all kinds can build up with detergent, fabric softener residues, and other accumulated smells you did not recognize were there. The built up residues block water from properly penetrating the fabric, leading to areas that did not get clean.

There is certainly a better way than throwing them out at the sign of sour-like smells. Spend the money elsewhere and keep your towels because there is a way to revive them to almost new condition.

To start, get going with 1 cup of vinegar in hot water. Do not add any detergent or fabric softener because it could hinder the performance of the vinegar. Upon completion of round 1, repeat that step, but use a half cup of baking soda instead of vinegar. Once again, avoid adding laundry detergent to the washer. Once the cycle wraps up, toss the towels in your clothing dryer. You now have wonderful smelling towels.

At this point, if you don't have superb smelling towels, the automatic washer might need revitalized. Abide By procedures for your machine. Washer fresheners are an effortless way to renew your appliance. If you use that strategy, refer to the manual for the machine because it's not a typical load.
